OLBRICH will present their newly built pilot plant on the K 2010. Here known processes can flexibly be imitated and optimized.

Furthermore the modular construction system of the plant allows the development of innovative technologies in close cooperation with our customers.

2 lines will be available after the K 2010:

• - Multi-functional coating and laminating line of a working width of up to 600 mm
• - Laminating and embossing line for tests true to production for material widths of up to 1.000 mm

The pilot plant allows the realisation of innovations – it provides proven knowledge for planned investments on real production conditions and is the perfect complement of the engineering services rendered by OLBRICH.

Development of plastic parts by means of filling studies

The centre of the plastics activity is the Olbrich plant in the Hessian town of Breitscheid, where the Group’s competency in matters of plastics injection moulding technology is at home, with the employees of the former Schreiner Formen GmbH & Co. KG. An efficient development of the plastic parts and smooth production should be ensured by close cooperation with the suppliers of the plastic parts. Here the particular emphasis of the work lies in the early phase of design.

Giving expertise a face

Besides wallpaper production facilities and paper and foil finishing, facilities and machines for the production of carpets are the "third force" in Olbrich’s service portfolio in the converting sector. At the end of April, the ‘International Flooring Seminar’ provided an informative forum on the manufacturing of flexible flooring – and impressed the guests there and then with the expertise of the employees in all aspects of the business.

Innovative Drying Technology

The efficiency of a production line using solvent or water-based coating agents is mainly influenced by the selection of the drying process. Increases in energy costs also compel operators to optimise the drying process.

The employment of new nozzle technologies, the CTS nozzle for the lower air and the TP nozzle for the upper air, make possible the highest degree of drying process customisation.

Olbrich present themselves with a new logo

For more than half a century Olbrich’s identity sign had remained unchanged. “It was time to rejuvenate the logo. A difficult, but necessary step to promote our distinctive image.

The present great variety of activities on the different markets is stamped by a new Olbrich that way“, says Markus Waterkamp, sales manager at Olbrich’s. When redesigning the logo the high degree of recognition of the previous logo should in any case be maintained. The aim was a fundamental updating, but not a complete change. Markus Waterkamp: “After all the name Olbrich and with that the old logo has got a reputation for highest quality in the machine building industry“.
